BIO International Convention, 2007
Forest City attended and was a silver sponsor at the BIO 2007 International convention in Boston. During the 3 day conference the company showcased some of its current projects to over 20,000 attendees. Forest City projects on display included the Illinois Science + Technology Park, Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins, the Colorado Science + Technology Park at Fitzsimons, and University Park at MIT.
10th Annual America-Israel Business Exchange
A unique, limited-attendance event was held at the Illinois Science + Technology Park immediately prior to BIO 2006. It showcased some of Israel's extraordinary life science technologies, and provided opportunities to explore and create significant collaborations between life science companies from Israel and leading U.S. companies based in the Midwest.
Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization Board of Directors Meeting
IBIO's board chose the Illinois Science + Technology Park and its state-of-the-art conference facility to hold its annual meeting to discuss the latest topics and newest trends happening within the biotech industry in Illinois.
Ground Breaking of the Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins
Forest City celebrated the start of construction of its first life science building adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Medical Complex in East Baltimore by inviting Baltimore's future scientists to put shovels to dirt that symbolized the commencement of new construction in East Baltimore.
Avon Breast Cancer Walk
Employees of the Illinois Science + Technology Park took time on a Saturday to welcome walkers of the Annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer to a rest stop at the Park. Walkers were welcomed with a gift from Forest City and the fun sounds of a popular Chicago DJ.
Ice Cream Spree
Forest City celebrated summer with icy treats from Herrell's, a much-loved Massachusetts tradition with a devoted national following. Newsweek magazine called Herrell's "a mecca for ice cream lovers," and USA Today named it one of the top ten ice cream businesses in the country.
The Brown Bag Opera
Forest City hosted "Dynamic Divas: The Great and Not So Great Women of Opera" on the University Park at MIT Common.
